HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Nikeshea began assisting those impacted by the events of homelessness and low-income individuals as a youth. In early 2005 she was recruited for basketball and accepted to Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. Continuing her passion from back home in Detroit and having first hand knowledge of living in a shelter this began her new awareness of opportunity to serve at a greater level. Building new friendships, acquaintances with other leaders and community outreach groups, caused her to step out into something bigger than her.
In 2012, Nikeshea Morris founded the non-profit No Potential Left Behind. No Potential Left Behind (NPLB) was the drive of Nikeshea’s mission to redistribute new and gently used items to communities in need. NPLB partners with food banks, local non-profits, churches, community groups, retailers and individuals to provide food, household goods, clothing, furniture, and other basic necessities to families and individuals.
Today many of the volunteers like the students serving above are college students who play a major part in our outreach activities. We also encourage our elderly, business and community participants to join in on the fun. Nikeshea and the other volunteers are devoted to serving communities and their families, providing care packages and making sure that all families NPLB comes in contact with have the resources and support that they need. No Potential Left Behind is a mobile pantry that also partnered with Family Affair Ministries for use of facility as an incubator space where volunteers serve families every month.
Nikeshea and her organization step up to the call to provide immediate assistance. Nikeshea’s leadership, commitment, and accountability is known throughout her communities, touching many lives every day, and her impact is genuine and priceless.
